OBJECTIVES
In accordance with the National Polity of Education (1986)
Government of India started Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNVs) Presently the
JNVs are spread in 27 States and 7 Union Territories.At present there are
595 jnvs all over the country.Under Patna Region which consists of Bihar ,Jharkhand
and West Bengal,the number of schools are 39+24+18=81. These are Co-education
residential School fully financed and administrated by Government of India
through an autonomous organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
To provide good quality modern education including a strong component of
culture, inculcation of values, awareness of the environment, adventure
activities and physical education to the talented children predominantly
from rural areas. To ensure that students attain a reasonable level of
competency in Three Language. To promote national integration through
migration of Students from Hindi to non Hindi speaking State and vise -
versa.
SALIENT FEATURES
Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has been established with the sole aim of
providing good quality modern education including a strong component of
culture, inculcation of values, awareness of the environment, adventure
activities and physical education to the talented children pre dominantly
from rural areas.
Navodaya Vidyalaya also promote national integration through migration of
Students from Hindi to non Hindi speaking state and vice versa.
JNVST admission on the basis of Merit
Only the candidates from the
district where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya has been opened are eligible
to apply for admission. A candidates for the selection test must be studying
in Class - V for the whole of the academic session 2010 - 2011 in a
Government aided or other recognized School or School under scheme of "
Sarve Shiksha Abhiyan " or "B" certificate competency course of
National Institute of Open Schooling in the same district where he/she is
seeking admission. A School will be deemed recognized if it is declared so
by the Government or by any other agency authorized on behalf of Government.
The School under " Sarve Shiksha Abhiyan " are to be sponsored
by Govt. or Govt. authorized agencies.
A candidate seeking admission through JNVST 2012 must not have been born
01-05-1999 and after 30-04-2003. This will apply to candidates of all
categories, including those who belong to the Schedule Castes (SCs) and
Schedule Tribes (STs). A candidates claiming admission from rural quota must
have studied and passed classes III, IV and V from a Govt./ recognized School
in the session 2008-09, 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 respectively spending
one full academic session each year in a rural area. At least 75% of the
seats in a District will be filled by candidates selected from rural areas
and the remaining seats will filled from the urban areas of the District.
Reservation for Rural, S.C., S.T. and Girl Students
There is a provision for reservation
of seats for SC and ST candidates. There is a provision for reservation of
seats for girls. There is a provision for reservation of 3% sets for disable
children. ( i.e. Orthopedically handicapped, Hearing impaired and visually
handicapped).
Co-educational Residential Secondary Schools with Free Education
Navodaya Vidyalaya's are
Co-educational Residential Secondary Schools affiliated to Central Board of
Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi catering to the requirements of the
talented rural children of the District.
Adherence to Three Language Formula
The policy entails to ensure that Students attain a reasonable level
of competence in three languages.
Promotion of National Integration
National Integration is promoted through Migration of Students from Hindi to
non Hindi speaking states and vice versa.
Rural Location, Cost free land State Govt.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Barhat, jamui is located in the Barhat Block of
Jamui District Bihar, placed at a distance of about 7 kms from Jamui Railway
Station at Malaypur. About 30 acres, free of cost Land have
been provided by the state Govt.
EDUCATION EXCELLENCE
The Vidyalaya strives to achieve
the goals setup by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti in order to accomplish
qualitative as well as quantitative result in the CBSE Exams. JNV, Jamui is
running upto +2 Level having two streams - Science Stream and bio -
Technology. The Vidyalaya is equipped with all sorts of facilities including
the well furnished practical laboratories i.e. Chemistry Lab, Physics Lab,
Biology Lab, Mathematics Lab and a well equipped Computer Room for the
conduct of Smart Classes. The Vidyalaya also offers Computer Aided
Education.
JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA, BARHAT,JAMUI
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Barhat, Jamui, Dist: Jamui was established
in 1997 in accordance with NPE, 1986. It is situated in a 37-acre plot in
Barhat, surrounded by beautiful landscapes in Barhat
of District- Jamui, Bihar State. The Vidyalaya is placed at a distance of 6 Kms from
Jamui Railway Station at Malaypur.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya are fully residential, co-educational schools
affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi having classes up to 12 standard. Navodaya
Vidyalaya Samiti, an autonomous Organization under the ministry of HRD,
Government of India, manages these Vidyalayas. Admission to these Vidyalayas
is through a test called JNVST to Class VI. Children are predominantly from
rural areas and there is 30% reservation of girls. Quality modern education
with a strong component of culture, promotion of National Integration
through student migration between Hindi speaking ad Non-Hindi speaking
states and following a three language formula with vernacular as medium of
instruction up to Class-VIII are some of the salient features of this unique
educational venture.
